To celebrate the launch of the Lexus LC coupe, the studio created a one-of-a-kind leather seat inspired by the design and takumi craftsmanship found in the car. It’s rare that a prototype should yield perfect results, or be expected to, which made fulfilment of this brief a unique challenge.
The chaise expands quickly out from a small base to a sweeping and generous platform to recline on the hand stitched single panel of soft vegetable tanned leather. The chaise envelopes the sitter and gives a sense of floating or being carried.
