We were commissioned to design a portable sleeve case for the eponymous Charles Heidseck, inspired by the materials used by the house to create their wonderful champagne. The body of the sleeve was shoulder leather, tanned using bark extract. We designed the handle in oak bark-tanned bridle leather, in homage to the oak casts used to age the champagne. The shaped solid cork base references the iconic silhouette of the champagne cork, and lends support and shape. Otis created a set of deconstructed cases which were stitched together as part of Charles Heidseck's 'Maverick Encounters' series; with guests creating their own monogrammed version of the case.
